Posidonia 2026 was a record-breaking international shipping exhibition held from June 1 to June 5, 2026, at the Athens Metropolitan Expo in Athens, Greece. Recognized as the largest edition in the event’s history, it served as a premier global hub for the maritime community, bringing together 2,227 exhibitors from 83 countries and welcoming over 35,000 professional visitors.
Event Overview & Key Statistics
- Host Venue: The event took place at the state-of-the-art Athens Metropolitan Expo, the largest exhibition center in Greece, located right within the Athens International Airport complex.
- Unprecedented Scale: The exhibition spanned 45,000 square meters of gross leasable area across 4 halls. It featured 24 official national pavilions, which included the high-profile return of nations like Germany and Italy after a long absence.
- High-Level Attendance: The official opening ceremony included dignitaries such as the Union of Greek Shipowners President Melina Travlos, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Arsenio Dominguez, and the President of Panama José Raúl Mulino.
Our Experince
The exhibition was very useful and interesting where we had meetings with clients across the globe especially from Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Middle East, Nigeria, Spain, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and local shipping companies from Greece. The major product line was the 8 Strand Durasam NX Rope, Durasam Flex Ropes and 12 Strand Snap Back Ropes. We have received decent response from customers for respective enquiries and have a good opportunity to convert these prospects into business relationship.
